How it works

From inquiry to filed, without leaving your couch.

Here’s exactly what happens, start to finish, so nothing about the process is a mystery.

  1. Send an inquiry

Fill out the short form with your name, email, whether you’re an individual or business owner, and a general question. That’s it.

Please don’t include Social Security numbers, account numbers, or documents. We collect those later, securely.

    Start your inquiry

  2. Get your onboarding instructions

We’ll reply with next steps: an engagement letter that spells out the work and how fees are set, plus your invitation to the secure client portal.

  3. Upload your documents securely

Log in to the client portal and upload your documents. Clear phone photos of documents work fine. You can upload a little at a time.

The portal is a separate, secure system. It’s the only place we accept tax documents.

  4. Preparation and review

We prepare your return and reach out if anything is missing or unclear. Then we walk you through the results: what you owe or get back, and why.

This is also when you’ll see your final fee. It depends on what your return ended up needing, so it’s confirmed now, once the work is complete.

Nothing gets filed until you’ve reviewed it and your questions are answered.

  5. Sign and file

You’ll sign an IRS e-file authorization (Form 8879) electronically. That gives us permission to transmit your return. Once the IRS and your state accept it, we’ll let you know.

A copy of your completed return is saved to a secure shared folder, so you can access it anytime.
