Professional status

Burr Necessities Tax is a tax preparation practice. Our preparer holds a valid IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN), and the practice is an IRS Authorized e-file Provider.

We are not certified public accountants (CPAs), Enrolled Agents, or attorneys, and we don’t provide legal advice, audit or attestation services, or investment advice.

IRS representation

We don’t represent clients before the IRS or state tax agencies. Under IRS rules, representation is limited to credentialed practitioners, such as CPAs, Enrolled Agents, attorneys, and preparers who hold a current Annual Filing Season Program Record of Completion. If you receive a notice, we’ll help you understand it and, when representation is needed, refer you to a qualified professional.

No guaranteed outcomes

We don’t guarantee refund amounts, refund timing, or the outcome of any IRS or state review. Refunds are issued by the IRS and state agencies on their own schedules.

Your responsibility for your return

You are legally responsible for the accuracy of your return. We prepare it based on the information and documents you provide, and we’ll ask questions when something needs clarifying. Please review your return carefully before signing.

Electronic filing authorization

We file your return only after you sign IRS Form 8879 (and any required state authorization), which gives us permission to transmit it electronically.

Fees

Each service has a starting fee, shared before work begins. Your final fee depends on the forms and schedules your return requires and is confirmed when your return is complete, before you sign your e-file authorization. We do not base fees on the size of your refund.
